A Place on the Lake

Watson's Lakefront Resort sits on the shore of Rose Lake in Cataldo, Idaho — a place where the water is still, the trees are tall, and the pace of life slows down.

The Story

Bill and Louise Rice envisioned a place where guests could experience Northern Idaho the way locals do — on the water, around a table of great food, and under a sky full of stars. Watson's Lakefront Resort is that vision brought to life.

The property offers five unique accommodations, from rustic log cabins to a one-of-a-kind geodesic dome, alongside Red's Tavern — a garden-to-table restaurant where nearly all ingredients are locally sourced. Beyond the lodging itself, guests have run of Louise's on-property garden and the lakefront yoga deck — small touches that make the place feel lived-in rather than rented. Whether you're here for a romantic weekend, a family lake trip, or an evening of steaks and live music, Watson's is built for the kind of stay you remember.

Rose Lake & Cataldo, Idaho

Rose Lake is one of Northern Idaho's quieter gems — a calm, scenic lake tucked into the evergreen-covered hills east of Coeur d'Alene. The town of Cataldo sits just off I-90, roughly 30 minutes from Coeur d'Alene and an hour from Spokane.

The Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes, a 73-mile paved recreation trail, passes right through the area — making Watson's an ideal stop for cyclists looking for quality lodging and a real meal after a day on the trail.

Summer brings swimming, kayaking, and long evenings on the deck. Fall brings golden larches and crisp mornings. Year-round, the lake and the surrounding forests offer a kind of quiet that's hard to find anywhere else.
